Carmel Delaney is a 1985 graduate of Cornell University and a dual citizen of the USA and Ireland. Carmel's career began in the world of consumer products, having worked for 15 years for Procter & Gamble in five countries.
As the parent of four children who have been educated in multiple countries, she is empathetic to the complexities faced by international families in the US admissions process and has crafted a process to help all international students navigate the process successfully.
Working both domestically and internationally, Carmel moved with P&G to Poland, Belgium, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia. She became involved in international education via board work with international schools, serving on the Board of Trustees of the International School of Brussels, as well as Chairing the Board at the Pechersk International School in Ukraine while the IB program was established there.
Carmel established International Educational Resources in 2003 after repatriating back to the USA and discovering the lack of support for international students living abroad who wanted to attend school in the USA. She brings a unique component of understanding cultural impacts, professional experience, and “inside perspective” in order to find the right fit for each student, maximize their chances of success, and help both student and family throughout the process.
Carmel is a contributor to Mobility magazine, published by Worldwide ERC, an international relocation company, on transitional issues faced by international students. She is a sought after lecturer and frequently addresses topics related to international students with institutions of higher learning. In addition to student placement work, Carmel continues to advise educational institutions on issues relating to international students, work with Corporations on international relocation issues related to education, and conduct professional development seminars for teachers and college counselors.
