I have known Carmel since 1998, when we served together on the board of an international school in Kiev, Ukraine (Carmel chaired the board). Having witnessed first-hand her extraordinary intellect, drive and competence – this is a woman who undoubtedly would be CEO of a Fortune 500 consumer company had she not chosen to leave the corporate world to raise her 4 kids – it was a no-brainer to turn to her for help when my oldest daughter commenced the college search process as a high school junior in Moscow. I grew up in Saudi Arabia, but I always knew that I wanted to attend a university in the States. When I graduated from an Arabic high school, I felt that jumping right into an American college curriculum would be extremely difficult. Mrs. Delaney helped me find an excellent solution to my problem and that was to take a transitional year between high school and college as a Post-Graduate. With her help, I was accepted at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, a top-ranked preparatory school which really helped in easing my transition between international high schooling and U.S College. With the support of International Educational Resources students can start being independent while making the choices and doing the work required to go to the US for higher education. Actually, in our case, the parental involvement required was minimal which was good because we did not know much about the US system.
