International Educational Resources has been assisting students who want to study in the US since 2004, when Carmel Delaney founded the company. Since that time, Carmel has expanded to bring in Joie Jager-Hyman, to specifically work with Ivy League applicants, sharing her expertise as an ex- ivy League admissions officer. In response to many requests from her international students looking for support, in 2008 she added SAT/ACT tutoring support and hired experts in both Math and English, including a Yale graduate who is a native Russian speaker.
IER helps clients in all areas of the process from start to finish. IER clients have been accepted at the most selective boarding schools and colleges in the US as well as institutions that are leaders in their respective areas. Fact based knowledge of schools is an important component of the IER difference and over 100 schools have been visited and revisited to provide IER clients the most up to date information. We are constantly traveling to review schools that are well suited for our international clients.
IER also provides professional development workshops to International Schools, college counseling departments, teachers and groups. They work with corporate clients moving employees internationally and the related educational issues and also advise US institutions of higher learning about the needs of international students. Carmel and Joie both speak regularly on topics of International Students, and the US Admissions process, and how to improve the system of matching students and schools.
